On Midsummer's day,
We went to our friends house, and collected fallen branches from the woods.
We dragged our fire wood up to the meadow next to our friends cottage,
And left it there for a while!
We watched a calf take its first steps,
And explored and played and ate pizza and jacket potatoes.
We found a little water! And the children all stripped off and ran around like wild things. They splashed and blew bubbles and stalked bees in the honey suckle.
And when they were good and tired we lit the fire and sat together, watching the flames, feeling the warmth from the evening sun, and listening to the sounds of the cows welcoming their calves, and the children laughing and playing and running naked in the long grass.
