Elements of Self; The Eyes Have It!

Continuing with Shakti Mama's Elements of Self series, I am posting today on the theme of eyes. I have tried, with this series, not to think too much or 'stage' the photo's as far as possible. Instead I have tried to just do it, there and then, with what ever happens happening. I saw the latest challenge in the series today, and so I photographed my eyes.

I can't imagine a worst day to photograph myself! I went to a friend Hen Party on Saturday and drank beer and stayed out until gone 2 am! All thing that I have not done for literally years! The last time I stayed up late and got drunk was on our honeymoon, seriously! And I feel terrible for it. Not hungover, as I actually didn't consume much, but just really tired and run down.

That'll learn me!

  1. Your eyes look soft...I can see tiredness. But I also see peacefulness as well as a 'searchingness' (yeah, i know, that's not a word!). :D

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Happy Monday to you!

  4. Lovely eyes indeed. Mine always look tired - because they always are. :) Thanks for coming by my blog. Nice to "meet" you. -Debbie

  5. Yes, beautiful eyes ... very soft and dreamy. You almost look like Kate Winslet here. Have I said this already? I think I have ... I'm sorry I keep repeating myself! But you are beautiful, and I do love the hazy black and white photos. Something so timeless about b&w.

I agree with what Leslie says about the searching look in them ... I think I have this searching quality in my own eyes if they're captured just right on camera.

I haven't had more than, say, half a drink in a long, long time. I'm so sensitive to alcohol that I tend to drink in serious moderation. I suppose someday I might drink more than I intended (or stay out too late!) and really regret it later :).

Thank you for doing this in spite of your tiredness :).

  6. Yes, I see the searchingness too. A calm centered sort of searching. Beautiful.
